Can I use Crisco instead of butter in a cookie recipe??

I have everything to make chocolate chip cookies except butter. I do have Crisco though. Will it make a huge difference if I use that instead?

Nooooooooo---use applesauce it's way healther. You can substitute applesauce for oil or butter ~~ anytime. Can I use Crisco instead of butter in a cookie recipe??
Yoou can if you wish. It can make them softer. But if the recipe says to cook for 10-12 minutes, cook for 8-10, remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets. Real butter is best though.

Good Luck!

Hope this helps
Yes you can. It will make them thicker and chewier. But that's a good thing!
Yes, go to crisco.com for a recipe
I've always used crisco in my cookies.
eeew no to crisco!
Yes, you can use Crisco. However, it is NOT a 1:1 ratio. For every cup of butter, use 1 cup of Crisco with 6 teaspoons of water. Crisco has a lower melting point, so the cookies will be a little puffier, and less crispy, but they'll turn out fine.
